Dig this guys words. He’s a true Hollywood Liberal. Just like I like ’em. Thanks Mr. Cusack for speaking your mind.
Since the New York Times published the story Behind Military Analysts, the Pentagon’s Hidden Hand media like CNN, Fox News, and others have completely ignored this serious scandal. Watch this great video from Matt Thompson of FreePress.net about how our main stream American media really isn’t on our side. (Video via The Uptake.)
Update Turns out the Pentagon’s actions aren’t just unethical… they’re illegal!
Very interesting article from The New York Times called Behind Military Analysts, the Pentagon’s Hidden Hand. Read it. I feel that the closer we get to the end of the Bush administration the more of these types of articles we shall see. After Bush is gone my bet is we’ll hear a ton of stuff.
President George W. Bush and seven of his administration’s top officials, including Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, made at least 935 false statements in the two years following September 11, 2001, about the national security threat posed by Saddam Hussein’s Iraq. Nearly five years after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, an exhaustive examination of the record shows that the statements were part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses.
On at least 532 separate occasions (in speeches, briefings, interviews, testimony, and the like), Bush and these three key officials, along with Secretary of State Colin Powell, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, and White House press secretaries Ari Fleischer and Scott McClellan, stated unequivocally that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction (or was trying to produce or obtain them), links to Al Qaeda, or both. This concerted effort was the underpinning of the Bush administration’s case for war.
Its time that a bipartisan group of US Representatives and Senators IMPEACH George W. Bush and Dick Cheney!
JANUARY 11, 2008, is the six-year anniversary of the first arrival of prisoners at Guantánamo Bay.
On January 11, we are calling on everyone opposed to torture and indefinite detention to WEAR ORANGE to symbolize their sadness and disgust with the national shame that is Guantánamo Bay.

Yesterday I got an email from James Craven. He’s an Indigenous Leader, Radical Pedagogue, and anti-war activist. He sent me a link to a Open Letter to the Government from an AWOL Soldier by James Circello of Iraq Veterans Against The War. I found this writing intense and compelling. So I share it with you here bellow the fold in its entirety. I hope you can find the time to read it and think about this soldier’s point of view.
Special thanks to Stan Goff for all your inspiration and the wisdom you share with such love.
